1/72nd Vespid Tiger

Here are some photos sent through direct from Vespid Models, showing a couple of built-up samples of their new 1/72 kit of an early variant of the Tiger I. I included a couple of them in the recent issue of Tankette (58/3) but here we have space to see a few more, and show them in colour!

The kit is not released yet in the UK but should be with the importers before too much longer (appropriately enough the importers are Tiger Hobbies Ltd). Until then we don’t have the confirmed retail price but having seen a sample of the actual kit I can say it will be worth waiting for. Just a little internal detail so you can add more if you want to. Radiators & fuel tanks in the engine compartment, some details in the hull plus gun breech and crew seats inside the turret. Link and length track which fits very well. with moulded in track sag where appropriate. Etch details, including the mesh screens for the engine deck,

There are 3 marking options provided for, all from SS Pz Regt 2 of Das Reich – No 831, Spring 1943: No S22, November 1943: and S33, July 1943. All in the 3-colour late war camouflage.

Personally, I’d say it is the best details small scale kit of the Tiger 1 I have seen to date.

Look out for announcements from Tiger Hobbies Ltd for when it becomes available here in the UK.
