The 16/17th August saw the annual Armourfest at the Norfolk Tank Museum. This is one of the most populat events for Cambridge MAFVA with both full sized armour actually running and a great model hanger with Cambridge MAFVA exhibiting along with other clubs and individuals. This year our stand was alongside our long-time associate Models For Heroes as usual.
Outside all manner of armour and soft skins were on display, with some of them putting on demonstrations in the arena, accompanied by bangs, flashes and lots of smoke and dust.
Most of the vehicles are post war British but there are also WW2 vehicles, Vietnam era Americans and lots of demonstrations and re-enactments. A couple that were worthy of special note were an exhibit of East German Cold War spy equipment and a display of WW2 era fire fighting equipment.
Special thanks goes out to Steve, the man behind the Norfolk Tank Museum and all his friendly staff who excel at making us welcome and providing for all our needs throughout the weekend.
