We have just received some news of forthcoming kits from Gecko. You may recall that Gecko announced back in the summer of last year that they were planning to release a kit of the Matilda 1 in 1/35th scale. We have just been sent images of the final test build of this kit which usually means that it will be released fairly soon. With lots of interior detail in the turret and hull, this is one which many British military vehicle modellers will be eagerly awaiting.
The second piece of news is a figure set to go with Gecko’s M76 Otter.
As a fan of Vietnam war kits this will certainly be on my wish list, but not for my M76 Otter; I’ve already made figures for that and set it in a diorama, but this is the first 1/35th figure set that I’ve seen which includes ‘Leathernecks’ wearing the correct US Marines’ caps – or ‘covers’ to give them the USMC term. They will no doubt be appearing on quite a few of my future builds.
