March 2025
The association’s committee has held bi monthly meetings throughout the year
All meetings were correctly constituted and minuted
The business of the association has been properly administered
Part way through the year we lost the Chairman due to resignation. The committee recognised Paul Gandy’s long and significant contribution to MAFVA over many years and in many ways.
Rather than attempting to appoint a new chairman the committee decided to institute a rolling Chair. This means that for each meeting a different committee member takes the chair of the meeting.
The role of the chair is accordingly constrained to management of the committee meeting.
This has worked successfully to date.
A significant piece of governance work has been completed in reviewing and revising the association’s constitution.
The main change has been to bring the constitution into the digital era, moving from a requirement for hard copy letters and forms to a governance structure that works with e mails and digital postings.
The revised 2025 constitution is placed before the AGM for adoption and is available in the bundle.
