On the 16th February we attended the Shuttleworth model show, organised again by the Brampton club and, as we’ve found in the past, it was rather chilly inside the hanger, but at least they kept the hanger doors closed this year!
This is a general model show with aircraft making up the bulk of the displays, but for the purposes of this review we’ll confine ourselves to the wheeled vehicle and military displays.
If you haven’t been to this event it’s well worth a visit as displaying at the model show also gives you entrance to the fascinating collection of antique aircraft and vehicles in the various hangers. Keen model makers will recognise a few actual subjects that became the basis for kits over the years, for example the ‘Spy-Dropper’ Lysander which became one of the options in the 1/32nd scale Matchbox kit back in the Seventies.
Here are just some of the models on display:
We done to Brampton for once again putting on a first class show, although I did note that their stand was right next to the huge space heater. I suppose that’s one of the perks of being the organiser!
