John Woolford has supplied an excellent pho for the cover of this Tankette, a head on view of the running Tiger II at the Tankfest 2025.
The regular page two article is ‘Member’s Models’, and this time we have a variety of models in different scales, including a Polish armoured train, Horch, GAZ AAA diorama, T34/85, Panhard 178 and a Ferret Mk I.
We then have the admin. page with contact details for the Association, a list of contents, and the editorial from Robin Buckland.
The Cromwell File continues with Part Six, where Dick Harley describes the production of Centaur and Cromwell tanks by English Electric. Alongside over three pages of text are five 1/76th scale drawings which provide a great source of information for those who want more than on offer in commercial books.
Peter Davenport supplies the second article looking at the Medium Mk II Command Tank that appeared in the Experimental Tank Force of 1931. Peter describes his research and how he used technology to put the drawings together. His drawings are 1/35th scale with five views, which should allow us to build a model with ease.
George Moore makes a welcome return with scale drawings allowing us to build a model of the Scout Carrier. George also supplies a lot of information, such as serial numbers and internal details, along with photos of the model under construction and completed. Other detailed drawings he has included are the Bren tripod and the No2 Cooker. The latter was still part of the CES into the 1990’s in the British Army. When the BV, or Boiling Vessel was introduced with Chieftain and CVR(T), the No2 Cooker was withdrawn.
The ‘Case for Books’ has six book reviews from Helion, MMP Books, Penguin Viking, and Casemate. A wide variety of subjects to give a heads up on new publications.
Next, Robin brings us his regular glimpse of new kits and products in ‘Out in the Marketplace’. Here we get a taste of new products from Takom, Gecko, Vespid, Dragon, Mirage and Den Bels.
David Fletcher looks at early armoured cars and the Yeomanry. An interesting short history with a photograph of an obscure Rolls Royce.
The back pages are filled with colour photos taken at Tankfest 2025 by Robin, showing the various AFVs that were seen at the show.
Another fascinating Tankette, with some very useful information. Certainly plenty of scale plans in this issue!
