A small group from Cambridge MAFVA visited the annual model show at the French tank museum at Saumur last weekend and what a show it was. Even the journey was great because we arrived in Normandy in the early hours on June 6th just as the D-Day celebrations were beginning. We got to visit the new British D-Day memorial which is quite dramatic but also appropriately respectful.
Then on to Saumur and the Musée des Blindés where the model show is held within the actual display. Our tables were, appropriately enough, in front of full size British armour from WW2.
